Welcome to 2022!

Right. Well that was a crazy old 18 months for theatre lovers and makers. Not a whole lot of joy in there for anyone. So, allow me to welcome you to 2022 which will be full of good
things, good theatre and good conversations.

JTDTC is thrilled to finally be bringing the (and yes, it is fair to say “long awaited”) Australian premiere of Babette’s Feast adapted from the much-loved short story by Isak Dinesen. With each postponement there have been some tweaks to the line-up of cast and creatives but the final team bringing this together are excited to be working together on this beautiful
production. Book your tickets early in the season so you’ll have a chance to bring some friends back with you a second time!

The second play for the 2022 season is “Relativity” by Mark St Germain. This is a playwright who is known for taking real historic figures and putting them in imaginary circumstances
and the results are fascinating “what ifs”. Albert Einstein is the real figure at the centre of this play: an undeniably great man. But what is the difference between “good” and “great”?
Perfect winter fare here.
And to wrap the season “It’s a Wonderful Life” adapted by Anthony Palermo will finally have its moment. For good reason this is one of the best loved Christmas stories of all time and we’re thrilled to offer such an unashamedly heart-warming theatrically clever story.
We are so grateful to you, our subscribers, for hanging on during the rollercoaster ride of the last 18 months and for being excited with us for what 2022 will bring.

Can’t wait to welcome you in to a JTDTC show!
