The play tells the story of Babette, a French refugee, who finds safety in a pious Norwegian fishing village. With extravagant generosity, Babette prepares a feast that shocks her neighbours and heals their fractured community.

Conceived and developed by Abigail Killeen, and written by Rose Courtney, this new stage adaptation premiered in January 2018 in Portland, Maine (USA), to rave reviews, before enjoying a successful run in New York. If you’ve seen the Oscar-winning film or read the story, you know that Babette’s Feast is a beautiful and timeless story with a big impact. And Joining the Dots Theatre can’t wait to introduce Babette and our amazing cast and crew to Sydney audiences!

A timely show for schools, community groups, neighbours and theatre friends.

As Babette says, “Through all the world there goes one long cry from the heart of the artist: Give me leave to do my utmost!’”

Enjoy pre-show dinner dining and post-show supper at Babette’s Feast

Dinner on the Table is a social enterprise, gifting meals to families living with disability. With every meal you buy and every event you invite them to cater, you are also helping vulnerable families by putting dinner on their tables.  We love their food. We love their heart.

Dinner on the Table is partnering with us to provide a delicious pre-show dinner on selected nights and a post-show supper on even more select nights.

We’re currently selling tables of ten for the pre-show dinner which includes a three-course dinner with a glass of wine served in the foyer of the Greek Theatre. Dinner will be served at 6.30 pm. And you can glide on into the theatre at 7.55 pm.

Across the season there will be four opportunities to actually dine on the stage, at Babette’s table, after the show. This is a unique supper (well, on four occasions) for twelve people to enjoy a feasting supper and chat with the actors.

I encourage you to book this early.
