We open the Joining The Dots Theatre Company 2021 season with a real-life story of Dorothy Day (one of our beloved “Dots”). There are ten shows, and the preview kicks us off on March 3 at Chippen Street Theatre, Chippendale. Tickets on sale now.

The play introduced Sydney audiences to the great works and messy lives of legendary writers from the 1920s (and on): Dorothy Parker (The New Yorker), Dorothy Day (The Catholic Worker) and Dorothy L. Sayers (Lord Wimsey detective novels/ BBC culture). Against the backdrop of a young writer’s struggles, these Dorothys invite us to consider the various voices and perspectives of those unlike ourselves.

This play, by Queensland playwright Ruth Tuxworth, explored radical love and racial tensions with poetic drama. It was read by a professional cast and open to the public. Aboriginal Christian leader and story advisor Brooke Prentis moderated the Q&A session which followed the reading.
